SKIPWITH NEWS – Posted 6/7/2020

In the interest of ensure you are informed with some of the schedule changes for next week and giving you time to adjust your schedule I am sending this message today and will have the same message go out on Sunday as well.

  1. As you know this coming week June 8-12 will be the last week of the school year! We will be celebrating with you and your children throughout the week.

Please mark you calendar for the following dates and times:

– Tuesday, June 9 at 11:00 am we will hold a 5th grade recognition ceremony for 5th grade families.

– This is a change: The school parade will now be on Tuesday, June 9  from 1:30-2:00 pm. We invite ALL preK-5th families to join our Skipwith staff to celebrate the end of the school year with a drive through parade. The Skipwith staff will be in the bus loop with signs, noise makers, and school spirit to wave each of you off for the summer. All you need to do is SLOWLY drive  through the school bus loop between the times of 1:30-2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 9. Feel free to decorate your car, make  signs, and wave goodbye for the summer. All families must remain in your car and simply drive through slowly!

  1. Monday-Friday our teachers will continue to hold their zoom meetings, they will focus on celebrations and bring closure to the school year.
  2. We encourage you to have your child attend these zoom meetings and enjoy celebrating with their teacher.
  3. Your teachers will also share a virtual field day activity.
  4. If you still have library books at home you may drop them off during the parade. Just be sure to have them in a bag and hand them to a teacher as you drive by.
  5. If you were unable to get your child’s materials this past week please know we have them saved and your child will get them in the fall.
However, if/when school reopens this summer you may come to the main office to get these materials, Just be sure to have your child’s teacher name.

Thank you!
